About a month ago Mr. Jose Gregorio Najera affectionately known by most island residents as “Don Jose” asked the public to kindly assist him to raise funds for a much needed surgery that he required. Don Jose is in need of a second bi-pass surgery to install a new heart pace-maker and he was raffling his personal golf cart.

Friends and relatives of the late Flavio Vasquez pay their last respect and lay his body to rest eternally at the San Pedro Cemetery today September 1, 2011. He will be sadly missed and of course remembered with much fondness. Don Flavio was a fisherman and founding member of Caribeña Fishing Cooperative who concentrated his efforts in the catching and processing of conch.
